Application Process
Thank you for your interest in Wayne Christian School! We look forward to meeting your family and sharing more about the opportunities ahead for your child. Individualized attention is a hallmark of the WCS experience, and our admissions process is no exception. During this exciting time, we anticipate partnering with you to ensure your student is set up for success.
Steps to Joining the WCS Family
We welcome (but do not require) you to get started by scheduling a tour at WCS! It’s a great opportunity to explore our campus and receive grade-specific information.
The following must accompany the application:
- Copies of previous school records including
- All educational and diagnostic testing
- Standardized tests
- Transcripts
- Report cards from the last two years or a transcript for students in 8th grade and higher
- Pastoral Recommendation
- Teacher Recommendation
- Copy of birth certificate
- Application fee of $50.00
After receiving the completed application packet, the admissions office will schedule your student for testing (grades 1-12). This placement test will take about 90 minutes and will test your student in reading, writing, and math.
The admissions committee will review your application after the placement test. If the committee decides to move forward with your application, an interview appointment is made with the parent(s)/guardian(s) and child to meet with an administrator. This interview is a time to answer questions you might have, determine the school’s ability to meet the needs of your student, and assess philosophical compatibility.
While we would love to accept everybody who applies to WCS, limited space means that we are not always able to accept all applicants. Applicants who meet all admissions criteria but for whom we do not have a seat available will be placed in the waiting pool and offered admission if/when a seat in the desired grade comes open.
Acceptance, non-acceptance, or placement in the waiting pool will be communicated to all families in writing. The first round of admission decisions for the 2022-2023 school year will be sent on Friday, January 14, 2022. After that, admission decisions will be sent every other Friday.
Within your acceptance email, you will receive a link to your enrollment packet. The online packet must be submitted within two weeks if you are accepting admission for your child. A non-refundable $500 enrollment fee is due upon submission of the enrollment packet to hold your seat for the upcoming school year.
Current Openings
While we wish we could welcome every family who desires a high-quality Christian education, the reality is that some of our grades reach capacity during enrollment season. The chart below indicates availability for the 2024-2025 school year. Open seats for 2025-2026 in each grade will be updated in February, following the commitments of current students. If you are interested in enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year, please reach out to our admissions office for information about applying to start in the third semester.
Applications for the 2025-2026 school year will open in January to in-house families and will open in February for all others.
- Open means we currently have seats available in this grade. If you apply now and meet enrollment criteria, there’s a high chance your child will be accepted.
- Wait Pool means this grade is currently full, but we welcome you to apply to join our wait pool. All applicants will go through the full admissions process and accepted students will be placed in the wait pool. If a seat opens, we will consider those in the wait pool to fill that seat. If no seats open during the requested school year, we will contact you in the fall to see if you would like to remain in the wait pool for an additional year.
- Closed means this grade is full, and the wait pool is full. We hope you’ll consider applying next year!
- *Wait pool status is good for one year. We will ask for updated references and assessments in order to stay in the wait pool longer than one year.
